Rupert enjoys the challenges that
come from working to solve creative design problems presented by
commissions which have, in many cases, given him the opportunity
to move forward into uncharted territory. His unique, timeless
designs have matured and moved in tandem with his customers’ tastes
away from the tendency towards “two-dimensional thought” in
modern furniture. Taking calculated risks, he responds to confidence
on the part of his clients, enabling them to turn their ideas into
reality. |

The Commissioning Process |
|
After detailed discussions to gain
an understanding of what is required, drawings for the design are
produced and recommendations made for the timber to be used. These
drawings can be modified to reach the final design which can then
be priced. It is only at this stage that a commitment is required
and a deposit of normally 30% of the commission price is payable. |
